Job summary

UDig invites you to join its 8-week Summer Internship Program, designed to launch your engineering career in a real consulting environment. You’ll work on live client engagements, write quality code, and learn modern stacks, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices under experienced mentors.

You’ll gain hands-on experience, collaborate with a flexible team, and receive guidance through code reviews and technical leadership, all while contributing to meaningful projects in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in a technical field such as CS, SE, or related area.
• Foundational programming knowledge in an object-oriented language and data structures.
• Willing to work full-time for the 8-week program in a hybrid model from Nashville or Richmond.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, well-documented code as part of a delivery team on an active client engagement.
• Gain practical experience with modern development stacks and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Participate in code reviews and pairing with Consultants to sharpen engineering craft.
• Help debug, refactor, and document existing systems and contribute to data models and integrations.

What You ' ll Do:

• Write clean, well-documented, well-tested code as part of a delivery team working on an active client engagement.
• Gain practical experience with modern development stacks, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and DevOps tools.
• Participate in code reviews and pairing with Consultants, applying feedback to sharpen your engineering craft.
• Help debug, refactor, and document existing systems, and contribute to data models and integrations where the project calls for it.
• Dedicate time to research emerging technologies and best practices relevant to your project, applying your academic knowledge in a professional setting.

What You ' ll Bring:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• Foundational programming knowledge in an object-oriented or modern language (Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript), plus a working understanding of data structures, algorithms, and version control (Git).
• Exposure to relational databases and SQL, REST APIs, or cloud services is a plus.
• A strong passion for technology consulting and a proactive, ownership-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the enthusiasm to ask questions and learn rapidly.
• Ability to work full-time for the duration of the 8-week summer program (6/7-7/30) in a hybrid model based out of one of our hub locations (Nashville or Richmond).
