Job summary

RTX in Wilsonville, Oregon is seeking a software engineering co-op to design and develop software from requirements and to debug flight-critical software in a lab or simulation environment.

This full-time co-op runs May/June–December and offers hands-on aerospace experience, exposure to Head-Up Displays and camera systems, and collaboration with experienced engineers on verification, testing, and software procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in a STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Experience in programming languages such as C, C#, Python, Perl.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred; coursework in embedded systems and debugging skills encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software from functional and interface requirements.
  • Debug flight critical software and perform system integration in a lab or simulation environment.
  • Create or maintain software component unit tests.
  • Develop requirement-based test procedures.
  • Verify software performance through structural coverage analysis.

What You Will Do
  • Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June-December (including the fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
  • You will design and develop software from functional and interface requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
