Job summary

RTX seeks a dedicated undergraduate or graduate student for a full-time co-op in aerospace software engineering. You will collaborate with Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software for helicopter and aircraft solutions onsite in Cedar Rapids.

Expect leadership, coordination, and proactive contribution to project timelines while traveling as needed. The program runs January through August and requires ongoing enrollment in a STEM degree, with at least 30 credits

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Experience with C, C++, ADA, and/or Python.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for software solutions that are integrated into helicopters and planes.
• Travel domestically and internationally.
• Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.

What You Will Do

• Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

• Pilot/Avionics Experience (i.e. Private Pilot, Aircraft Maintenance, DO-178 Certification)
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Salary

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
