Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and operate highly scalable distributed systems and cloud-native applications at Annapolis Junction, MD. The role emphasizes Java and distributed computing, with hands-on Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS experience to move platforms beyond JAVA/JVM for secure AI/ML model training and deployment.

Ideal candidates hold an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and have extensive Systems Engineering experience.

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph.
Twenty (20) years of Systems Engineering experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity, with demonstrated expertise in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution; in lieu of a degree, an additional five (5) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience may be substituted

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate highly scalable distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
Practical familiarity with AWS cloud services.
