Job summary

J&T Business Consulting seeks an experienced Software Engineer (Level 1) with active TS/SCI clearance to support Applied Cyber Concepts research in Laurel, MD. The role bridges cyber research and operational software by designing, prototyping, and deploying secure components across full-stack architectures.

You will author design specifications and implement secure software, including interfaces, databases, and backend frameworks, while performing rigorous testing per government plans.

Qualifications

• Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus at least 7 years of software engineering experience on programs/contracts of similar scope and complexity, OR
• 11 years of relevant software engineering experience without a degree.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and prototype software applications translating applied cyber research into mission capabilities.
• Create hardware and software component design specifications.
• Implement robust application designs with security controls, database connectivity, and intuitive interfaces.
• Build and manage builds and dependencies using Java, Spring, Gradle, and Docker.
• Work within Linux/Bash environments to build, debug, deploy, and maintain software components.
• Execute unit, integration, and functional testing per approved test plans.
