Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking software engineers to join our space systems team, developing software to enable resilient space operations and secure missions. You will work with open-source tools and modern CI/CD practices to deliver cutting-edge capabilities for national security applications.

Candidates should have hands-on experience with Java, C++, JavaScript, or Python, containerization in cloud environments, and agile development in fast-paced settings, with the potential for TS/SCI

Qualifications

• Experience developing software in Java, C++, JavaScript, Python.
• Experience with containerization in a cloud environment using Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Containerd.
• Experience with Agile development, using JIRA and Confluence.
• Must be a US Citizen with current Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.

• Dynamically optimize terrestrial and space-based sensors for space domain awareness.

Our team leverages industry standard open-source software solutions such as GitLab, Kubernetes, and Helm. Our automation-first and "everything as code" mindset allows our software engineers to focus their time and efforts on what is most important - building cutting edge functionality for our end users.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience developing software in any of the following languages: Java, C++, JavaScript, Python
• Experience with application containerization (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Containerd) in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, OpenShift)
• Experience working in an Agile development environment, using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Experience with CI/CD - Deployment pipelines, automated build, and configuration tools (Gitlab, ArgoCD)
• Must be a US Citizen; Must have a current Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Desired Skills

• Recent on-program experience as a technical lead (e.g., architecture design, technical research, project management, define/enforce code quality standards, etc.)
• Development experience with any of the following programming languages: Java or Python
• Recent on-program Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience (e.g., automation, incident management, monitoring, optimization, programming/scripting, metrics, security, etc.)
• Development experience with Linux and shell scripting (e.g., bash)
• Familiarity with the Space Domain
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level
• Demonstrated ability to establish strong team relationships and deliver exceptional results
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $120600.00 - $224000.00
