Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. in Denver, CO is seeking an experienced Go backend engineer to develop and maintain scalable services for authorization and inter-service communication across Splunk’s platform.

You will resolve production issues, improve performance and reliability, modernize existing C++ services, and collaborate with multiple engineering teams, including on-call support and operational rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD; Go backend experience required.
• U.S. persons with TS/SCI clearance and Full Scope Polygraph required.
• Experience with production backend systems and independent implementation and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

Job description

Develop and maintain Go backend services that provide scalable authorization and service-to-service communication across Splunk's platform. Resolve production issues, improve performance and reliability, modernize established C++ services and distributed infrastructure, and collaborate with engineering teams, including through operational support and on‑call rotations.

Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree and at least five years of relevant experience, a master's degree and at least three years of relevant experience, a related PhD, or equivalent experience; professional experience building and maintaining backend services with Go is required. Applicants must be U.S. persons and hold a current U.S. Government TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph; experience with production backend systems and independent implementation and team collaboration is also required.
