Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. seeks a senior backend engineer to design and develop high-performance authorization services, primarily in C++, while contributing to Go-based services and modernizing Splunk’s platform for cloud-native and Kubernetes environments.

You will lead complex technical initiatives, coordinate engineering work, guide design reviews, and support production reliability and troubleshooting across multi-service deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years experience or higher degrees with appropriate years.
• Strong C++ backend development experience and distributed systems.
• Experience leading architectural/design initiatives and reviews.

Responsibilities

Job description

Design and develop high-performance authorization backend services, primarily in C++, while contributing to Go-based services and modernizing Splunk’s platform for cloud-native and Kubernetes-based environments. Lead complex technical initiatives and architectural decisions, coordinate engineering work, guide design and code reviews, and support production reliability and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience, a master’s degree and at least 4 years, or a PhD and at least 1 year. Candidates need C++ experience developing complex backend systems, production experience with distributed systems, architectural and technical design expertise, and a record of leading initiatives through delivery; Go, Kubernetes, access control, and legacy-system modernization are preferred.
