Job summary

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. This software development engineering role on the Power System team focuses on ground services that monitor, predict, and optimize power system performance across the constellation.

You will ingest telemetry, run predictive models, publish constraints, and surface health insights for mission operators. You will write production-grade code, build APIs, develop data pipelines, and participate in on-call rotations within a small, fast-moving

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python or Java.
• Experience with data pipelines, cloud services, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and software development best practices (testing, code review, CI/CD).

Responsibilities

• Ingest, process, and serve large volumes of on-orbit telemetry and derived power system metrics.
• Predict future satellite energy state using orbital parameters and activity schedules.
• Compute and publish per-satellite operational limits consumed by other planning systems.
• Monitor constellation health in real time, detect anomalies, and automate fault escalation.
• Write production-quality code, build APIs, develop data pipelines, create automated tests, and participate in on-call rotations.
