Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC seeks a Software Development Engineer on the Power System team to build ground services that monitor, predict, and optimize power system performance across a constellation of LEO satellites.

You will ingest telemetry, run predictive models, publish operational constraints, and surface health insights to mission operators, writing production-quality code and APIs while collaborating with systems engineers and data scientists.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• Proficiency in Python or Java.
• Experience with at least one of: data pipelines, cloud services, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and software development best practices (testing, code review, CI/CD).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Ingest, process, and serve large volumes of on-orbit telemetry and derived power system metrics.
• Predict future satellite energy state using orbital parameters and activity schedules.
• Compute and publish per-satellite operational limits consumed by other planning systems.
• Monitor constellation health in real time, detect anomalies, and automate fault escalation.
• You will write production-quality code, build APIs, develop data pipelines, create automated tests, and participate in on-call rotations.
