Software Engineer (SAP Applications), Enterprise Systems

The Enterprise SAP team within Global IS&T implements groundbreaking solutions across diverse systems, supporting Apple’s dynamic business needs and daily operations.

We seek a versatile and motivated SAP Application Engineer to design, architect, and develop secure, reliable, and scalable solutions for Apple’s business units.

As a senior SAP Application Engineer, you will oversee multiple projects within a dynamic environment and collaborate with talented team members. Your responsibilities include:

1. Institutionalizing best practices for application development to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, high-performance, and scalable solutions.
2. Staying updated on the latest technological solutions to foster innovation in addressing business challenges.
3. Taking technical ownership of multiple system platforms, setting technology roadmaps with measurable objectives, and supervising results.
4. Partnering with SAP cross-technical and functional teams to meet expectations.
5. Collaborating with software vendors and SAP on co-innovation initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• 15+ years of SAP development experience, including SAP ABAP RICEFW objects, OData/SOAP web services, HANA stored procedures, AMDP, Restful ABAP programming, Fiori, UI5, side-by-side extensibility, and other modern SAP technologies.
• 10+ years of experience as a technical architect recommending secure, scalable SAP solutions in SAP S/4 HANA on-premise and SAP BTP systems.
• 10+ years understanding SAP S/4 HANA frameworks, tools, data models, and SAP BTP services, mainly in SD and FICO modules.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to translate complex business requirements into SAP solutions using the latest technologies, including detailed FIT/GAP analysis.
• Experience designing and proposing scalable, robust SAP architectures aligned with business needs and industry standards.
• Hands-on experience developing Proof-of-Concepts to inform SAP system design decisions.
• Experience integrating SAP with third-party systems, applications, and external data sources using middleware technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent preferred.

Key and Preferred Qualifications

• Curiosity and research-oriented mindset to explore new SAP and third-party tools and technologies.
• Effective communication skills for presenting SAP architectures and solutions to peers and leadership.
• Knowledge of SAP backend integration with SAP BTP via Cloud Connector, SAP CPI, API Management, and Advanced Event Mesh is a plus.
