We are hiring remote workers for this role in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York City, or Minneapolis areas. At this time, only candidates in these locations will be considered.

What You’ll Do

The iOS Software Engineer is a critical member of the Calm Engineering Team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the next generation of iOS and Healthcare applications. You will work closely with a team of engineers, designers, product managers, and customers to ensure that our products are reliable, performant, and secure. Specifically, you will:

  • Partner with Product and Design to design, implement and test new features and products for iOS platform
  • Produce and ensure delivery of quality, readable and well-tested code
  • Integrate application with backend tools such as cloud, API’s and push notifications
  • Responsible for providing prototypes and proofs of concepts
  • Help define the future of the iOS apps at Calm
  • Provide estimates and deliver in time with quality
  • Be extremely impactful as a member of a small team

Who You Are

  • Have experience building iOS applications using Swift
  • Some UI and UX experience is desired
  • Familiar with Apple design principles, design patterns and interface guidelines
  • Stay up to date and experiment with the latest iOS technologies
  • Have a product-focused mindset. Our team works together to deliver projects that use technology to solve real business problems
  • Think critically about how your work connects to the business strategy/vision
  • You can collaborate with iOS, Android, and Backend engineers in order to ship features
  • Someone who excels at user-centric product development
  • Passionate about making beautiful, smooth, delightful mobile experiences
  • You’re capable of learning new things and are interested in figuring out tough problems
  • You know how to leverage the experience of others and when to ask for help

Nice to Haves

  • Past experience building apps in highly controlled industries, i.e., healthcare
  • This role typically requires 3+ years of related experience

Calm uses a geographic pay model that determines salaries based on the location where an employee lives. For this position, the base pay ranges across Calm’s pay tiers is as follows: $147,000 - $225,000. The base pay range represents the low and high end of Calm’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.Calm uses employee zip code to determine which pay range applies.This role is also eligible for equity + comprehensive benefits + 401k + flexible time off.
