Responsibilities

About the team: The security engineering team is missioned to build security services, platforms and technologies, as well as to support cross‑functional teams to protect our users, products and infrastructures. In this team you’ll have a unique opportunity to have first‑hand exposure to the strategy of the company in key security initiatives, especially in building scalable and secure‑by‑design systems and solutions. You also have opportunities to go through the whole lifecycle of security products or services, and are encouraged to participate in each phase and part of the projects to see the whole picture of what we are working on. As a project intern you will engage in impactful short‑term projects that give you a glimpse of professional real‑world experience. You will gain practical skills through on‑the‑job learning in a fast‑paced work environment and develop a deeper understanding of your career interests. Qualifications

• Undergraduate or postgraduate who is currently pursuing a degree/master in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or another STEM discipline
• Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, C++ or similar
• Proven experience writing comprehensive automated tests, performing effective code reviews and debugging issues to ensure high standards of code quality and reliability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and optimizing high‑throughput, high‑availability systems, with a strong understanding of performance tuning and scalability trade‑offs
• Practical knowledge of backend security principles and best practices, including authentication, authorization, least‑privilege access and secure service‑to‑service communication

Job Information

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $45 – $60.

Benefits

Interns have day‑one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive ten paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in the first half of the year, 40 if hired in the second half). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for a housing allowance.
