Job summary

NetJets is seeking a software engineer to design, build, and maintain applications and data solutions that empower airline operations and customer experiences. You will own technical outcomes, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and apply modern engineering practices to deliver reliable systems at scale.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • 2-4 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles: OO, data structures, algorithms.

Tasks and Responsibilities


  • Design, build, test, maintain, and support software applications, services, and systems, ensuring they deliver business value and are fully prepared for operational use.

  • Ensure application resiliency, stability, security, and data protection by implementing robust engineering practices, proactive monitoring, and adherence to organizational and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with the people on your team, in your functional area, and with your business stakeholders to ensure business value is achieved.

  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability by taking ownership of commitments, delivering results with integrity, and ensuring outcomes meet agreed‑upon goals.

  • Operate within an agile team to deliver outcomes iteratively while fostering empiricism, learning, and continuous improvement in delivery practices.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent engineering field.

  • Previous internship or work experience as an entry level engineer with 0-2+ years’ experience is preferred.

  • Demonstrated interest in software engineering through academic coursework, internships, co‑op assignments, personal projects, open‑source contributions, or related technical experience.

  • Basic understanding of software development principles, including object‑oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design concepts.

  • Familiarity with software development tools and practices, including source control systems (Git), integrated development environments (IDEs), debugging, and code reviews.

  • Exposure to software quality practices such as unit testing, automated testing, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.

  • Foundational knowledge of web, mobile, API, or service‑based application development is preferred.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and services, preferably AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Exposure to modern development practices such as Agile methodologies, continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and DevOps concepts is preferred.

  • Basic understanding of databases, including SQL and relational database concepts. Exposure to NoSQL databases is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to learn new technologies, tools, and business domains quickly.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and collaborate with teammates, stakeholders, and business partners.

  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver high‑quality results.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

  • Exposure to technologies such as React, Node.js, REST APIs, Terraform, cloud services, observability tools, or AI‑assisted development tools is a plus but not required.
