Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Software Engineer for the Listing Integrity team to build scalable backend systems that detect and prevent fraudulent listings. You will work with data scientists, designers, product managers, and customer operations to reduce fraud and protect hosts and guests.

The role is US remote-eligible, with opportunities to collaborate across functions and contribute to high-impact fraud prevention initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building systems at scale.
• Passion for building user-facing products or large backend systems.
• Experience with Ruby/Ruby on Rails, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Scala.
• Ability to write high performance production quality code.
• Experience with APIs, data pipelines and scalable web architectures.
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams (design, product, data science, research).
• Ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders (legal, operations).
• Experience in Trust and Risk domain is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with large-scale back end systems to detect fraud using rules and ML models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for impact.
• Build tooling and automation to reduce fraud.
• Develop user challenges to prevent fraudulent listings while minimizing impact on good users.
• Create data pipelines for machine learning and improve fraud detection at scale.
