Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Payments Risk Engineering team. You will design and build scalable risk services and work with data science, product, and operations to detect and mitigate fraud across our payments platform.

You will contribute to high-availability, real-time systems, APIs, and data pipelines, collaborating across teams to balance performance and risk, with opportunities for growth and impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant industry experience in Payments/Fintech as backend software engineer.
• Proficient in Java/Kotlin/Python; React experience desired.
• Experience with APIs, data pipelines and high-scale web apps.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or equivalent experience.
• Experience in fraud/spam detection in payments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a long-term technology stack with well-defined APIs, service-oriented and observable architecture.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers and other teams to build insights and respond to fraud and risk.
• Develop integrations with third-party vendors, networks and processors to empower in-house risk systems.
• Evolve risk detection, mitigation and resolution strategies as requirements change.
• Focus on monitoring and observability to improve risk system quality.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to advance our processes and foundation.
