Job summary

COLSA Corporation in San Antonio, Texas is seeking a Software Engineer to apply broad software engineering knowledge from requirements to test and deployment. This on-site full-time position requires U.S. citizenship and a current Top Secret DoD clearance.

You will review, analyze, and implement software across the full lifecycle with emphasis on documentation and collaboration with stakeholders. The role emphasizes agile development and DevOps practices for both cloud and non-cloud

Qualifications

• Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant DoD experience, or a HS diploma and at least 10 years of experience with 5 in DoD.
• U.S. Citizenship is required and the candidate must have a current/active Top Secret DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Determining operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, requirements, and proposed solutions.
• Documenting and demonstrating solutions with flowcharts, diagrams, and clear code comments.
• Planning system specifications, standards, and programming approaches.
• Improving operations through systems analysis and policy recommendations.
• Obtaining and licensing software information from vendors and testing products.
• Providing information by summarizing development and service issues.
• Developing software by analyzing information needs and following the SDLC.
• Planning agile acquisition/software development techniques.
• Planning and implementing DevOps for cloud and non-cloud apps.

COLSA Corporation is currently seeking a Software Engineer that will perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of software engineering to include but not be limited to reviewing, preparing, and analyzing all types of documentation, planning, requirements, design, Validation and Verification, support, and test--to include source code, configuration files, and engineering resolution support.

Responsibilities May Also Include. But Are Not Limited To

• Determining operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
• Documenting and demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code
• Preparing and installing solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
• Improving operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures
• Obtaining and licensing software by obtaining required information from vendors, recommending purchases, testing, and approving products
• Providing information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
• Accomplishing engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed
• Developing software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the software development life cycle
• Plan and or implement agile acquisition/software development techniques
• Plan and or implement DevOps processes and techniques for Cloud and non-cloud applications

Required Qualifications

• Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience
  • Bachelors Degree in related field and at least 3 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 3 of which must be in DoD
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) and at least 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional disciplined being performed, 5 of which must be DoD
• U.S. Citizenship required; Must have a current/active Top Secret DoD security clearance
