Job summary

Captivation is looking for a mid-level software engineer to join our team responsible for Java and Angular applications, RESTful services, and modernization efforts. The role involves developing with Spring Boot, containerized deployments, and contributing to CI/CD in a security-conscious environment.

The candidate will deploy to Kubernetes across cloud and on‑prem environments, participate in design and code reviews, and support documentation with Jira/Confluence.

Qualifications

• A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a SWE is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university is required

Responsibilities

• Analyze user and system requirements to design, develop, test, and maintain Java and Angular applications
• Design, develop, and support RESTful APIs, service integrations, and data access components for Oracle, PostgreSQL, and other relational databases
• Support application modernization initiatives, including Spring Boot migration, database modernization, microservices, and containerization
• Deploy and support containerized applications in Kubernetes environments across cloud and on-premises infrastructure
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, technical design, and continuous process improvement
• Develop automated unit and integration tests, support CI/CD pipelines, and maintain technical documentation using Confluence and Jira
• Provide backup database administration support for Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB while cross-training across application, database, and deployment technologies to ensure operational continuity
