Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our Intelligence Sector’s Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). The role focuses on building scalable Spring Boot applications, deploying to Kubernetes, and modernizing mission-critical Intelligence systems supporting national security.

You’ll work on a high-performance Java platform with containerized architecture, developing RESTful APIs, and contributing to CI/CD automation in an Agile team. A TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
Twelve (12) years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Experience developing Java enterprise applications using Spring Boot or similar modern frameworks.
Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with relational databases such as MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar technologies.
Experience with container technologies (Docker or Podman), Kubernetes, or other modern application deployment platforms.
Experience working in Agile development environments using Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
Security Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications using Spring Boot and modern software engineering best practices.
Develop scalable RESTful APIs and backend services supporting mission-critical applications and high-performance enterprise systems.
Design, optimize, and troubleshoot relational database solutions using MariaDB and other enterprise database technologies.
Support application modernization initiatives through containerization, Kubernetes deployments, and continuous improvements to system architecture.
Participate in technical design sessions, architecture discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and Agile software development activities.
Develop and maintain automated testing solutions and GitLab CI/CD pipelines to improve software quality, deployment efficiency, and operational reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams using Jira and Confluence while supporting the complete software development lifecycle.
