  • Own projects from planning through implementation, launch, and follow-up, including milestones, dependencies, risks, testing, rollout, migration, observability, and operational readiness
  • Diagnose complex technical and production issues and drive them through resolution
  • Lead design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions while encouraging engineers to build their own problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Product, and other stakeholders to maintain alignment, remove blockers, and drive projects forward
  • Communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, risks, project status, and team needs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Influence technical and product decisions beyond your immediate team through strong technical judgment and business understanding
  • Improve engineering practices, technical quality, documentation, and knowledge sharing while identifying opportunities to simplify and improve customer outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a hands-on player-coach role, balancing meaningful technical contributions with the day-to-day responsibilities of supervising engineers
  • Ability to set clear expectations, delegate effectively, hold people accountable, and support their professional growth
  • Ability to give constructive feedback, navigate difficult conversations, and recognize when to involve senior leadership
  • BS in Computer Science, Math, or another analytical discipline is preferred, but not required
  • Strong technical and architectural problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate tradeoffs and make sound decisions
