Job summary

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a Software Engineer IV to join the GATEKEEPER team in Alabama. You will design, develop, integrate, and maintain the GATEKEEPER product alongside software developers, systems engineers, QA specialists, and DevOps personnel.

The role focuses on enterprise solutions using Java/Spring Boot and Python across relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, with Docker-based packaging and deployment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field; an additional four years of experience may substitute for the degree (total up to 16 years).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain the GATEKEEPER product with the team.
• Provide software engineering support across the full SDLC - application development, system integration, troubleshooting, deployment, and sustainment.
• Develop enterprise solutions in Java/Spring Boot and Python and work with relational and NoSQL databases; maintain technical documentation.

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a skilled Software Engineer IV to join our growing team!

Join the GATEKEEPER team to design, develop, integrate, and maintain the GATEKEEPER product alongside software developers, systems engineers, QA specialists, and DevOps personnel. You will provide software engineering support across the full SDLC - application development, system integration, troubleshooting, deployment, and sustainment - building enterprise solutions in Java/Spring Boot and Python against relational and NoSQL databases, supporting DoD installations, and maintaining the technical documentation that goes with them.

Qualifications:

• Twelve (12) years of software engineering experience
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • An additional four (4) years of software engineering experience may be substituted for the degree, for a total of sixteen (16) years

Desired Skills:

• Must be able to work in a collaborative environment, with minimal supervision
• Strong Java (Spring Boot) and Python development, plus scripting
• Competence with RDBMS (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB); database optimization skills are a plus
• Collaborate closely with the test team, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements
• Experience working in a Docker environment, including packaging, development, and orchestration
• Some experience with AI concepts and tools, or using an LLM for code assistance
• Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation applications is a plus
• Experience using front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue
