Job summary

Reflexive Concepts is seeking an Agile Developer IV to design scalable, secure AWS architectures for event-driven services and data pipelines. You will write production Java Spring Boot and Python Lambdas, and manage container workloads in Kubernetes.

You will lead DevSecOps, implement IaC, and mentor 2-4 junior developers while collaborating with leadership to communicate roadmaps and risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
• 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree plus 10 years.
• Active Top Secret clearance with CI polygraph within the last 7 years.
• Ability to support an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end, scalable architectures for event-driven services on AWS.
• Develop production-grade Java and Python services as Lambdas or Kubernetes workloads.
• Define and maintain IaC for the entire stack with reproducibility.
• Architect data pipelines using DynamoDB, OpenSearch, SQS, and SNS.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting via CloudWatch.
• Lead CI/CD, DevSecOps practices with GitLab pipelines and blue-green deployments.
• Mentor 2–4 junior developers and conduct architecture deep dives.
• Communicate progress and roadblocks to leadership and stakeholders.
• Produce architecture diagrams, run books, and SOPs for operations.

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a skilled Agile Developer IV to join our team!

The Work:

• Design & Blueprint – Create end-to-end, scalable, secure, and cost-optimized architectures for event-driven services, data pipelines, and search solutions on AWS
• Hands-On Development – Write production-grade Java (Spring Boot) and Python (Lambdas) services that run as AWS Lambda functions or containerized workloads (Kubernetes)
• Infrastructure as Code – Define and maintain IaC, ensuring reproducibility and version control of the entire stack
• Data & Messaging Layer – Architect and implement solutions leveraging DynamoDB, OpenSearch, SQS, and SNS for high-throughput, low-latency data access and streaming
• Observability & Reliability – Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting via CloudWatch and custom dashboards
• CI/CD & DevSecOps – Work with GitLab pipelines, static code analysis, and blue-green/canary deployments
• Technical Leadership – Mentor 2-4 junior developers, conduct code reviews, run architecture deep dives, and champion best-practice adoption (clean code, design patterns)
• Collaboration – Communicate technical details, solutions, and roadblocks to leadership and business stakeholders
• Documentation – Produce clear, up-to-date architectural diagrams, run books, and knowledge base articles; prepare Standard Operating Procedures for frequently executed and on-call operations

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
• 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree plus 10 years of relevant experience
• An active Top Secret clearance with CI polygraph within the last seven (7) years
• Ability to support an on-call rotation
