Job summary

RTX in East Hartford, CT invites an intern to dive into embedded software engineering within a real-time CDS environment. You will contribute to embedded C code, assist with architecture, and help verify software against airworthiness standards on target hardware.

Applicants should be pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer/Electrical Engineering or STEM with a 3.0+ GPA and experience in C, C++, Python. Onsite role, with comprehensive RTX benefits and mentored project work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or STEM and actively enrolled through the internship.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Software experience in C, C++, Python.
• Understanding of real-time embedded software concepts and RTOS.
• Familiarity with SPI, MIL-STD-1394, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and software configuration management (JIRA, Git).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to requirements definition, software architecture, and low-level design for embedded software in C.
• Assist development to support airworthiness standards MIL-STD-516 and DO-178.
• Support hardware/software integration and debugging on target platforms.
• Collaborate with system architects and cross-functional teams; communicate risks and status.
