Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking Software Development Interns to join our team and learn from industry leaders. You’ll develop and manage enterprise platforms, build deployment pipelines, and contribute to security and quality monitoring across public and private clouds.

You’ll gain exposure to automation, tooling, and modern software engineering practices while collaborating with a supportive team and mentors. Internship sessions are temporary and may lead to full-time opportunities upon graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BA/BS in computer science or related field.
• Passion for technology, reverse engineering, and coding.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Windows and Linux, containers, and databases.
• Experience with source control, build, deploy, orchestration, and configuration management tools.
• Experience writing code or scripts in at least one high-level language.
• Automation mindset to reduce manual tasks.
• Familiarity with AWS and public cloud architectures.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Interest in secure, scalable applications and data-driven performance.
• Familiarity with AI tools for productivity and testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Document new development, procedures or test plans.
• Help establish best practices, security, and engineering standards.
• Build tools and pipelines for CI/CD across environments.
• Automate code packaging, deployment, and config management across environments.
• Gather feedback from delivery and operations teams to improve throughput and quality.
• Monitor system and service performance across environments.
• Leverage AI tools to boost productivity, testing, and automation.
