Software Engineer III - Workday Payroll (Remote Work Option)

The annual base salary ranges from $99,500 to $222,900, depending on location, qualifications, skills, and experience. Benefits information can be found here: Nike Total Rewards.

Who We Are Looking For

As a Workday Payroll Senior Software Engineer III, you will work with a team of engineers across products, responsible for configuring, testing, and deploying changes related to Workday Payroll, Leaves, and Benefits to meet business requirements. You will drive technical deliverables to be completed on time.

What You Will Work On
  • Design, develop, and maintain payroll modules within the Workday ecosystem.
  • Configure payroll business processes, pay components, earnings, deductions, and tax setups.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Debug and resolve production issues and support change requests.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with functional teams (HR, Finance, Compliance) to understand business requirements.
  • Create user guides and support documentation for ongoing maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll system performance, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Stay updated on Workday releases and proactively suggest enhancements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for break/fix issues.
  • Ensure 100% alignment with policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality of HR data and information.
Who You Will Work With
  • Work with the lead/manager to ensure timely delivery of assigned work.
  • Collaborate with product management to understand business requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-product engineers and integration teams to deliver on time.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant education, training, and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience configuring payroll, leaves, and benefits.
  • 5+ years of experience configuring Workday Payroll, Leaves, and Benefits.
  • Experience with Workday Core HCM and Advanced Compensation (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Workday Payroll architecture and processes.
  • Experience with Workday EIB, Global Core Connectors, and Report Writer.
  • At least one full Workday implementation with demonstrated functional and technical experience.
  • Understanding of the full software implementation lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of SaaS applications and deployment models.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment.
  • Workday Payroll Pro Certification (preferred).
  • Detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
