Job description

Position Summary... The Emerging Tech team is passionate about solving customer and associate problems with the newest technologies. The team is responsible for creating breakthrough capabilities, delivering frictionless experiences, and making these technologies easily available to thousands of Walmart developers and 2.2 million associates. The applications and services built on these capabilities are used by hundreds of millions of customers daily.

What you'll do...
  1. Design, build, test, and deploy cutting-edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers worldwide.
  2. Collaborate with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
  3. Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set priorities, and deliver exceptional products.
  4. Participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements, translating them into technical solutions, gathering necessary information (e.g., design documents, product requirements).
  5. Write and develop code, conduct unit testing, collaborate with the project team and cross-functional teams, troubleshoot open issues and bug fixes, enhance design to prevent re-occurrences of defects, and ensure on-time delivery and hand-offs.
  6. Seek ways to improve the software and its effectiveness.
  7. Work closely with Product and Design teams on new user-facing features.
  8. Collaborate closely with DevOps, Support, and other R&D teams (located in the US and India).
What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's/Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of experience in the design and development of iOS mobile apps.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
  • Strong focus on high-quality mobile UI experiences.
  • Mobile-first design and responsive code deeply ingrained in your thought process.
  • Deep knowledge of Swift, Core Data, UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with publishing apps to the App Store.
  • Experience with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
  • Highly experienced working with REST APIs for deep integrations, general best practices, shortcomings, trade-offs, etc.
  • Strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions.
  • Strong desire to drive change and ability to adapt to change quickly.
  • Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of design decisions.
  • Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience in working with large code bases and effectively driving large projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving attitude and analytical skills.
  • 3+ years of working in an Agile environment.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include stock options.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
