Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first company hiring a Software Engineer to help deliver web applications and APIs at scale. You’ll work with a team led by a tech lead and manager to break down projects, ship in phases, and ensure reliable, well-tested code.

You will collaborate across product, design, and analytics, own code quality, and participate in interview processes to grow with the team. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience shipping web apps with declarative UI frameworks like React.
• Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Ability to take a simple problem and build a solution across multiple components.
• Comfort debugging a large code base and reviewing others’ code.

Responsibilities

• Break down projects into tasks and deliver in phases.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics in ideation and decision making.
• Support operations and on-call efforts; monitor metrics and escalate when needed.
• Contribute to team growth through participation in interviews and mentorship.
