Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first company looking for an engineer who can break down complex projects into actionable tasks and deliver in phases. You will collaborate with product, design and analytics to balance constraints and trade-offs while contributing to the reliability of team artifacts and on-call efforts.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience shipping web apps with React.
• Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Ability to solve complex problems crossing multiple components with clear, well-tested code.
• Comfort with navigating large code bases and providing feedback via code reviews.
• Evidence of ownership of personal growth and seeking feedback.
• Strong written and verbal communication for global collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Break down projects into tasks, deliver in phases, and collaborate to ensure timely delivery.
• Support product lifecycle by collaborating with product, design & analytics on ideation and trade-offs.
• Create and monitor metrics, escalate issues, and support on-call efforts.
• Contribute to team growth via engagement in interview processes and knowledge sharing.
