Based in Annapolis Junction, MD, the role emphasizes performance, security, and collaboration with system and hardware engineers, with a full-time, on-site position and a strong focus on secure development practices.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Typically 14+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Java, C++, or Python
• Demonstrated experience leading software development teams and mentoring junior developers
• Familiarity with secure software development practices and classified environments

Responsibilities

• Lead software development efforts using Agile, Spiral, or Waterfall methodologies
• Design, develop, and maintain complex database and data repository interfaces and queries
• Implement high-performance algorithms to meet functional and system requirements
• Modify, debug, and improve existing software for performance and hardware integration
• Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance and data flows
• Apply scientific analysis and modeling to design scalable software systems
• Design and implement components under strict timing/resource constraints
• Coordinate testing of software components and ensure alignment with requirements
• Provide quality control oversight on development outputs
• Implement process improvements and enhance coding standards
• Collaborate with system & hardware engineers to define software requirements and performance specs
• Oversee software installation and coordinate with operations teams
