Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Typically 14+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Java, C++, or Python
• Demonstrated experience leading software development teams and mentoring junior developers
• Familiarity with secure software development practices and classified environments

Responsibilities

• Lead software development efforts using Agile, Spiral, or Waterfall methodologies
• Design, develop, and maintain complex database and data repository interfaces and queries
• Implement high-performance algorithms to meet functional and system requirements
• Modify, debug, and improve existing software for performance and hardware integration
• Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance and data flows
• Apply scientific analysis and modeling to design scalable software systems
• Design and implement components under strict timing/resource constraints

Position Overview: Navius Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer Level 2 to support mission‑critical programs in a secure environment. This position offers the opportunity to lead teams, design complex software systems, and directly influence the performance and security of national defense platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead software development efforts appropriate to the project's development methodology (Agile, Spiral, Waterfall, etc.)
• Design, develop, and maintain complex database and data repository interfaces and queries
• Implement or enhance high‑performance algorithms to meet strict functional and system requirements
• Modify, debug, and improve existing software to address bugs, integrate with new hardware, or enhance performance
• Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance, working with system engineers and users, and investigating data flows and processing logic
• Apply scientific analysis and modeling techniques to design scalable and maintainable software systems
• Design and implement software components under strict timing, resource, or interface constraints
• Conduct and support testing of software components, and ensure alignment with requirements and standards
• Provide quality control oversight on development outputs and team deliverables
• Implement process improvements and recommend enhancements to coding standards and documentation practices
• Collaborate with system engineers and hardware engineers to define detailed software requirements and performance specs
• Oversee software installation and coordinate with operations teams to ensure proper system function and compliance
