Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Engineer to advance the Same Day Delivery Experience team. You will design, build, and scale AI-powered tools using LLMs, RAG, and prompt engineering to deliver a fast, reliable, and grounded customer experience across shopping, buying, and post-purchase stages.

You will prototype agentic AI capabilities, optimize retrieval and embedding pipelines, and collaborate on scalable ML architectures for the Same Day Delivery network.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Designing and building AI-powered tools leveraging LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, prompt engineering, and agentic orchestration for customer-facing and internal applications.
• Developing and optimizing retrieval pipelines, embedding models, and context-augmented generation systems to deliver accurate, grounded AI outputs.
• Prototyping and iterating on new Agentic AI capabilities including fine-tuning, few-shot learning, chain-of-thought reasoning, and tool-use patterns.
• Working with team members on design approaches for scalable AI/ML systems that serve the Same Day Delivery network.
• Diving deep into complex technical problems spanning LLM application development, data interpretation, and demand planning systems.
