Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our technology team in Hartford, CT. You will perform end-to-end engineering tasks across design, development, testing, debugging, and health monitoring, coordinating with users and other technical teams to meet requirements.

The role emphasizes strong problem-solving, mentoring, and collaboration within a fast-growing environment powered by AWS and Quadient Inspire tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related STEM field, or equivalent education/experience.
• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with Java, C++, Python; AWS knowledge.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration with high accuracy, as an individual contributor.
• Assess and resolve defects and incidents of advanced complexity; escalate when needed.
• Work independently to tackle well-scoped and loosely scoped problems.
• Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
