Job summary

Johnson Health Tech North America Inc is seeking a Software Engineer II to drive R&D for KT Innovation and NPD of connected fitness products. You will work across embedded firmware, mobile, desktop, web, and cloud applications, owning features within projects and delivering iteratively.

The role emphasizes fast iteration, flexibility, and a non-supervisory stance, with opportunities to contribute to PoCs, design, and cross-team collaboration in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, Kotlin, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Version control (Git) and writing clear technical documentation.
• Experience in mobile (Android/iOS), desktop, or web applications; CI/CD; problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Understand and integrate potential new technologies, features, modalities/ergonomics into Johnson products.
• Design, implement, test, and debug software across the product stack, from embedded firmware to mobile, web, and cloud applications.
• Create proof-of-concepts (PoC) and collaborate with Product Management for review and refinement.
• Evaluate viability and risk mitigation for new features and approaches.
• Support PoC handoff to engineering teams based on Asia sourcing and manufacturing.
• Develop and document design and specifications; participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to intellectual property workarounds and new IP opportunities.
• Other projects as assigned.
