Job summary

Johnson Health Tech Companies is seeking a Software Engineer III to drive R&D across the KT Innovation area, spanning embedded firmware, mobile, desktop, web apps, and cloud services. You will own PoCs end-to-end, design decisions, and collaborate with Product Management to refine features.

The role requires 5–8 years of software experience, strong OO design, and the ability to work with hardware and manufacturing partners. On-site work is expected and international travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of professional software development experience, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in two or more programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, Kotlin, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Version control (i.e. Git).
• Write clear technical documentation.
• Ability to pick up new languages and/or frameworks as needed for a given project.
• Ability to interact with, program, and debug physical hardware.
• Application development in mobile (Android/iOS), desktop, or web.
• Continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD).
• Basic networking knowledge (ports, sockets, REST).

Responsibilities

• Understand and integrate potential new technologies, features into Johnson products.
• Design, implement, test, and debug software across the product stack from embedded firmware to mobile, web, and cloud applications.
• Create proof-of-concepts (PoC) and partner with Product Management for review and refinement.
• Evaluate and test for viability and risk mitigation.
• Transition PoC’s to engineering teams based on Asia sourcing and manufacturing.
• Develop and document design and specifications.
• Lead code reviews.
• Contribute to new intellectual property and IP workarounds.
• Guide and support junior engineers.
• Other projects as assigned.
