Job summary

Johnson Health Tech North America is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop software powering fitness equipment and connected technologies. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and manufacturing teams to move concepts from prototype to production in a fast-paced environment.

The role welcomes candidates with varying levels of experience; level/title will be aligned to background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• Experience with C/C++ for embedded software.
• Experience with object-oriented languages such as C++, C#, or Java.
• Understanding of RTOS or bare-metal embedded systems.
• Ability to read electronic schematics and component datasheets.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
• Embedded Linux, networking protocols (TCP/REST), CAN/USB/SPI/I2C.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software solutions for fitness equipment and connected technologies.
• Research, evaluate, and integrate new technologies and product concepts.
• Create proof-of-concept prototypes and collaborate with Product Management for refinement.
• Support transitions from prototypes to production-ready solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and design requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex software and hardware integration challenges.
• Collaborate with global engineering and manufacturing teams, including partners.
• Contribute to IP, product innovation, and technology advancements.
• Work in a fast-moving, iterative development environment focused on continuous improvement.
