Job summary

SEACORP is seeking a Software Engineer II to join a small product development team building high-reliability software for air-gapped tactical environments. We emphasize individual accountability and direct ownership from design through verification.

The Software Engineer will work on Java/JavaFX tools, containerization, and integration tasks in a tight-knit team, with focus on testing, validation, and deployment to edge Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics
• Minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Strong Java background (Spring, JUnit, JavaFX) and Gradle build automation.
• Linux & Automation: RHEL system administration, Bash scripting, and basic Ansible automation.
• Containers & Infrastructure: Podman and VirtualBox; basic Kubernetes (K3s) deployment familiarity.
• Host Networking: TCP/UDP, firewalld, static IP basics; core socket fundamentals.
• Source control with Git/Bitbucket; CI/CD with Bamboo.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and modernize Java/JavaFX tools and admin GUIs.
• Support migration to web-based services.
• Maintain and extend internal utilities for testing and simulation.
• Build, containerize (Podman), and validate software for edge Kubernetes (K3s).
• Diagnose host-level network, OS behavior, and cybersecurity-hardened baselines.
