Job summary

PURVIS Systems is seeking a Software Developer to join a product team building high-reliability software for air-gapped environments. You will design, implement, and maintain Java/JavaFX tools and admin GUIs, while supporting migration to web-based services.

The role emphasizes accountability and direct technical ownership from design through verification, with focus on testing utilities, containerization with Podman, and deploying to edge Kubernetes (K3s).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS or CE.
• 3+ years of professional work experience.
• Strong Java background with Spring, JUnit, JavaFX and Gradle automation.
• Experience with RHEL, Bash, and Ansible automation.
• Experience with Podman/VirtualBox and Kubernetes (K3s).
• Knowledge of Linux networking (IP, firewall) and sockets.
• Git and Bamboo CI/CD tooling in Bitbucket ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and modernize Java/JavaFX tools and admin GUIs; support migration to web services.
• Maintain and extend internal utilities for testing and mission simulation.
• Build, containerize with Podman, and validate software for edge Kubernetes (K3s).
• Diagnose host-level networking, OS behavior, and issues in STIG-compliant baselines.
