Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment invites a Software Engineer II to join the Platform Data Reliability & Automation team. You will build automated infrastructure and APIs to support data services used by millions of players.

You’ll work on Go services, Terraform modules, and automation across cloud environments, focusing on reliability, observability, and developer self-service. Your work spans provisioning, configuration, lifecycle management, on-call rotations, and capacity planning,

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years in software engineering, SRE, or platform engineering.
• Experience building production software, backend services, or infra tooling in Go.
• Hands-on Terraform to provision cloud infra.
• Experience developing APIs (design, validation, testing, versioning).
• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL, streaming, or caching tech (Cassandra, Aurora, Redis, DynamoDB, etc).
• Familiarity with AWS or GCP, cloud networking, identity, compute, storage, managed data services.
• Kubernetes experience deploying or operating containerized workloads.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software, APIs, and automation for provisioning and managing infrastructure.
• Build Terraform modules and IaC workflows for cloud, K8s, and data-platform services.
• Develop backend Go services to support provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Automate deployment, configuration, scaling, backups, and failover.
• Operate and improve SQL/NoSQL, streaming, and caching platforms at scale.
• Define SLIs/SLOs and runbooks; contribute to incident resolution and postmortems.
• Create automated tests for APIs, modules, and tooling; document runbooks.
