Sony Interactive Entertainment is hiring a Software Engineer II for Platform Data Reliability & Automation in San Mateo, CA. You will build, automate, and operate scalable data platforms using Terraform, Ansible, and cloud services, focusing on NoSQL, streaming, and caching.

You’ll contribute to reliability, observability, and efficient data services across AWS and GCP, writing Go code and collaborating across engineering, platform, and operations teams to support billions of transactions for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve IaC and configuration-management automation (Terraform, Ansible).
• Build automation for repeatable deployment of data services across cloud/hybrid environments.
• Ensure reliability, availability, and scalability of platform data services.
• Define and measure service-level indicators and error budgets.
• Develop automation for scaling, failover, backups, recovery, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Build observability with metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
• Troubleshoot Cassandra, Aerospike, Kafka/MSK, Redis, and related services.
• Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident analysis.
• Write Go code for infrastructure automation and platform services.
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, security, and operations teams.
• Create and maintain runbooks and automation playbooks.
• Explore AI-assisted automation and anomaly detection for productivity.
