Job summary

CSI is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, code, test, and debug backend solutions using C# with a focus on scalable services. You will contribute to several phases of major applications and collaborate with cross-functional teams while receiving guidance on the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field required or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development, backend focus with C# and .NET.
• Strong SQL Server and Azure experience, testing with Xunit, and clear communication.

• Programming: implement features from defined requests and test thoroughly.

• Mentorship: guide newer Software Engineers.
• Troubleshooting: assist with production incidents.

• Project Ownership: Take charge of significant software components, breaking down large tasks into manageable sub-tasks, prioritizing your work and setting clear, measurable goals for completion.
• Programming: Use applicable programming languages and technologies to build functions from loosely defined requests. Write code, complete programming tasks and perform functional testing and debugging.
• Code Development: Develop reusable code and create automation for deployment.
• Testing: Write and execute functional test scenarios and scripts to ensure software quality.
• Independent Work: Work independently on project components, providing periodic status updates.
• Code Review: Perform complex code reviews for changes made by yourself and others.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to new Software Engineers.
• Troubleshooting: Offer troubleshooting assistance for production incidents.
• Communication: Clearly articulate team roadblocks and effectively communicate them to stakeholders, including management, scrum master's and cross-functional teams.
• Additional Duties: Fulfill additional duties as assigned, contributing to the team's overall effectiveness.

Requirements

• Accredited university, college (computer science or computer engineering), or trade school education and training in applicable technology; advanced degrees or relevant certifications preferred.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in computer science, computer engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience focused on backend development with C#.
• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server relational database management system.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud computing services.
• Experience designing, building, testing, debugging, and maintaining scalable applications and services in a production environment.
• Experience working with Xunit and Injection for testing and debugging.
• Should have strong communication skills and be able to manage competing priorities effectively.
