Job summary

Alegeus in Florida is seeking a Software Engineer II to join an Agile development team and help lead the design and architecture of an enterprise application within the Alegeus product line.

You will develop, test, and maintain software, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and contribute to secure, high‑performing solutions. After six months, participate in on‑call rotations to support releases.

Qualifications

• Required degree in CS/IS or related; Master’s preferred.
• 3–5 years of software development with web apps and C#, RESTful services, MS SQL Server/T-SQL.
• Expertise in SQL Server tuning and T‑SQL; Agile team experience.
• Desire for .NET 8+, LINQ, Dapper and performance optimization.
• Experience delivering real‑time finance/transaction processing systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture for an enterprise application within the Alegeus product line.
• Collaborate with engineers, QA, and Product Owners to deliver high‑quality software.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and improve team productivity and quality.
• Develop, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain software applications.
• Mentor teammates and support on‑call rotations after six months.

Software Engineer II Job Description

MISSION

Work closely with business leadership and a dedicated Agile development team to lead the design and architecture for an enterprise application within the Alegeus product line.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding on the Alegeus platform and technologies.
• Work within teams of other Software Engineers, QA Engineers and Product Owners to deliver high-quality software, while solving complex business problems. Deliver high performing, secure and scalable solutions.
• As part of a scrum team, work on continuous improvement of productivity and quality, processes, and group dynamic. Help other team members and other teams to grow professionally.
• As part of the production on-call rotation, research and respond to off hours escalations within 2-3 hours. The on‑call rotation starts after 6 months, and cycles through every 4 months or so.
• Develop program logic for applications or analyze and modify logic in existing applications.
• Code, test, debug, document, implement and maintain software applications.
• Maintain, test and integrate application components.
• Analyze requirements (features and user stories) and translate business requirements into product designs.
• Design, develop, and maintain applications/tools.
• Work with teams to estimate coding tasks and monitor progress.
• Write technical specifications and other forms of documentation.
• Enforce and maintain policies and procedures associated with effective and efficient software development.
• Enforce and maintain secure coding practices and coding conventions.
• Mentor others wherever required to improve team efficiency.
• Occasionally work outside usual hours of business in order to support releases without impeding access to services during usual business hours.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related discipline is required. Master’s degree preferred.
• 3-5 years’ experience in software development including fluency and deep understanding of web application development, C#, RESTful Services, MS SQL Server/T‑SQL, Pub/Sub, .NET Core and Object‑Oriented design concepts.
• Expertise in T‑SQL and SQL Server tuning methodologies.
• Experience working in Agile teams.
• Desired experience in .NET 8+, LINQ, Dapper, database performance optimization.
• Desired experience in implementing software solutions for a real‑time production finance transaction processing system.

The posted salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position’s compensation grade and represents a blended range across our three hub locations: Florida, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin. Within this range, individual compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to job‑related skills, experience, and education. This range may also be adjusted based on geographic location and market conditions. In addition to base salary, total compensation may include bonuses, incentive plans, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Position Compensation Range

$66,800.00 - $113,700.00
