Job summary

Alegeus is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer in Milwaukee, WI to design and scale data platforms, services, and frameworks powering data consistency, reporting, and decision-making.

You will build Java-based microservices, enable self-service reporting, and collaborate with analytics and business teams to deliver high-performance data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with Java, Spring, Kafka, SQL, and Spark.
• Experience with Snowflake, distributed systems, data validation and reconciliation.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines across distributed systems.

• Design and build scalable data pipelines that capture, refresh, validate, and reconcile data across distributed systems, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and reliability.
• Develop modern Java-based microservices and APIs that power data movement, comparison workflows, and platform capabilities used across the business.
• Help shape the future of reporting by building a unified self-service reporting platform and migrating existing reporting solutions into a modern, scalable environment.

• Abilities: Strong ability to design and support distributed data platforms, build scalable backend services, develop complex SQL-based solutions, troubleshoot data quality issues, and deliver reliable, high-performing solutions in a microservices architecture.
• Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong expertise in Java, Spring, Kafka, SQL, and Spark, including building scalable microservices, REST APIs, and data processing platforms. Experience with Snowflake, distributed systems, data validation and reconciliation frameworks, and modern deployment practices using CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Location: 25% in office Hybrid (Boston, MA; Orlando, FL; Milwaukee, WI)

The posted salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position’s compensation grade and represents a blended range across our three hub locations: Florida, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin. Within this range, individual compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and education. This range may also be adjusted based on geographic location and market conditions. In addition to base salary, total compensation may include bonuses, incentive plans, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Position Compensation Range

$88,000.00 - $149,900.00
