Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co. is seeking a Software Engineer I to join a diverse team and contribute to the design, development, and support of our business-critical applications.

You will mentor associate engineers on software development best practices while delivering the next generation of applications to our customers. You will participate in all stages of the software lifecycle, lead the design of components, collaborate with product owners, and ensure code quality with unit tests and CI/CD

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or equivalent years of software development experience.
• 5-7 years of experience with programming in Java or similar languages.
• Full stack development experience with React, Angular, jQuery, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and Spring framework.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and database design.
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate with product owners and offshore teams.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary contact and lead support for multiple applications.
• Support the application lifecycle from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with technical/business leaders to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Develop, test, and analyze code; ensure performance and quality.
• Write unit and UI tests; leverage CI/CD for deployments.
• Triage production issues and coordinate with multiple teams to resolve them.
• Participate in interviews and mentor junior engineers.
