Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in Reading, PA is seeking a Software Engineer I to design, develop, and support our business-critical applications while mentoring associate engineers on software development best practices.

You will participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, lead design of certain components, and collaborate with product owners to translate requirements into robust solutions. This on-site role requires a BS in CS/CE and 5–7 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years experience with relevant programming languages (Java, RPG, etc).
• Full stack development with React/Angular/jQuery/HTML/JavaScript/CSS including Spring/Spring-MVC/MyBatis/RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience in relational database design and DevOps tools.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary contact and lead support for multiple applications.
• Support the full application lifecycle from design to deployment and support.
• Collaborate with leaders and product owners to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Develop, maintain, test, and optimize code and databases.
