Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co. is seeking a Software Engineer II in Reading, PA to lead the technical design of complex components and mentor developers. You will develop, enhance and support critical applications in a fast-paced environment, while collaborating with senior engineers to ensure code quality through reviews.

You will contribute across the lifecycle, design back-end DBs, and help guide UI/UX efforts. Strong Java/JS/React/Angular experience and Agile familiarity are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of software development experience with the listed languages.
• Full stack experience with React/Angular/JQuery/JavaScript/HTML/CSS and Spring stack.
• Experience working in Agile teams and design patterns knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of complex components for critical applications and mentor others on best practices.
• Develop, enhance, and support applications in a fast-paced environment.
• Contribute to lifecycle activities: design, testing, release, and support.
• Produce clean, well-documented code and participate in design reviews.
• Triage issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead backend DB design.
• Assist in hiring and interview candidates and ensure code quality through reviews.
