Job summary

Penske in Reading, PA is seeking a Software Engineer II to lead the technical design of complex components and mentor junior developers. You will develop, enhance and support applications, modernize systems, and drive code quality through reviews in a collaborative environment.

You will collaborate with senior staff, participate in design reviews, ensure proper documentation, and contribute to DevOps practices to streamline builds and deployments in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or equivalent software development experience.
• 8-10 years experience with programming languages (Java, RPG, etc.).
• Full stack development with React, Angular, jQuery, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Spring, Spring-MVC, MyBatis, RESTful APIs.
• 1-2 years of experience with Agile teams.
• Knowledge of design frameworks, patterns and SDLC.
• Knowledge of DevOps and automation.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary contact and lead support for critical applications and processes, resolving issues promptly.
• Support application lifecycle: develop, test, release and support per detailed requirements.
• Collaborate with technical/business leaders and product owners to refine requirements.
• Produce deliverables for medium to large projects with clean, well-documented code.
• Participate in Design and Deploy Tollgate reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Document systems, architecture and processes clearly.
