Job summary

Alfa Insurance is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Montgomery, AL team. You will design, develop, test, and maintain software applications with cross-functional collaboration to support policy administration and claims systems.

Bachelors in a related field and at least two years of programming experience are required. Oracle PeopleSoft or Workday experience is a plus. We offer growth opportunities, remote work two days per week after training, and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related area of study.
• Two years of programming experience preferred.
• Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft or Workday preferred.
• Competent communication skills, including clear and timely communication on business issues and assignments with peers, management, and product owners.

Responsibilities

• Gather, document, understand, and articulate functional, non-functional and business requirements that are already defined.
• Design and develop software applications and related components both independently and as part of a team.
• Perform unit, regression, and integration testing for application changes to ensure high quality.
• Track and monitor production systems for issue identification and prevention across multiple environments and operating platforms.
• Research and troubleshoot issues across different functional teams to rectify system problems in a timely manner.
• Communicate status updates with team members and leaders to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Become familiar with Alfa's interconnected technology framework and systems to understand impact of software changes.

This position has the possibility of remote work two days per week after the initial training period.
