Job summary

MedRock Pharmacy is seeking a Software Engineer I to build features across a TypeScript stack, collaborating with the Engineering Lead on backend API, frontend, and supporting services. This early-career role welcomes a developer with solid fundamentals who can ship production software with real users from week one.

You will work across NestJS backend and Next.js frontend, write SQL, develop REST APIs and real-time features, and participate in code reviews while ensuring audit and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Git fluency and comfort with pull-request workflows.
• Experience with NestJS, Next.js, or healthcare software is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills; able to work independently with light guidance.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features in TypeScript across a NestJS backend and Next.js/React frontend.
• Write SQL and review database migrations against PostgreSQL models.
• Develop REST APIs, WebSocket real-time features, and integrations with internal and third-party systems.
• Write unit and integration tests (Jest, Cypress) and participate in code reviews.
• Debug production issues and contribute fixes with attention to audit and compliance requirements.
• Document features and collaborate on design specifications before implementation.
