Visionist, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer (Distributed Systems & Cloud) to design and maintain large-scale, distributed web applications. You will architect scalable microservices and backend systems, leveraging Node.js, TypeScript and Python to enable high-performance data processing.

You will deploy in commercial cloud environments using IaC and build robust CI/CD pipelines. The role requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, strong collaboration with analysts and researchers, and a commitment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; 8 years of software development experience.
• Experience building distributed systems and enterprise-grade web apps.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python; AWS and IaC experience.
• Familiarity with modern software practices, version control, automated testing, and agile methods.

Your contributions are…

• Develop and maintain large-scale, distributed web applications using Node.js, TypeScript and Python
• Architect scalable microservices and backend systems that support high-performance data processing and communication
• Utilize DevOps automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaaS) to deploy and manage services in commercial cloud environments
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery of secure, reliable software
• Collaborate with security researchers to integrate engineering best practices into offensive cyber and vulnerability research projects
• Partner with users and analysts to enhance tooling and expand mission capabilities

Requirements for your new career…

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)
• 8 years of experience in software development
• Experience developing applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python
• Experience building and maintaining distributed systems and enterprise-grade web applications
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), DevOps practices, and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, including version control, automated testing, and agile development methodologies
• Experience with high-side development environments and non-attributed network configurations

Salary range: $150,000 - $190,000
