Job summary

Visionist, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer (Distributed Systems & Cloud) to contribute on our large PRIME contract. You will build scalable web apps with Node.js, TypeScript and Python, design microservices, and enable secure CI/CD in cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent.
• 8 years of software development experience.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
• Distributed systems and enterprise web apps experience.
• Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), DevOps, and IaC familiarity.
• Modern software engineering practices: VCS, testing, Agile.
• High-security development environment experience.

Your contributions are…

• Develop and maintain large-scale, distributed web applications using Node.js, TypeScript and Python


• Architect scalable microservices and backend systems that support high-performance data processing and communication


• Utilize DevOps automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaaS) to deploy and manage services in commercial cloud environments


• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery of secure, reliable software


• Collaborate with security researchers to integrate engineering best practices into offensive cyber and vulnerability research projects


• Partner with users and analysts to enhance tooling and expand mission capabilities

Requirements for your new career…

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)


• 8 years of experience in software development


• Experience developing applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python


• Experience building and maintaining distributed systems and enterprise-grade web applications


• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), DevOps practices, and Infrastructure-as-Code


• Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, including version control, automated testing, and agile development methodologies


• Experience with high-side development environments and non-attributed network configurations

Salary range: $150,000 - $190,000
